TOP Lacrosse Teams

Program Overview

TOP Lacrosse is proud to offer four competitive lacrosse teams based in Midtown Toronto for the 2020 season. Currently offering programs for boys and girls born between 2008-2012, the TOP Lacrosse program offers a unique approach to competitive lacrosse by offering local field time, manageable schedules and quality coaching, all while improving players' individual skills and ensuring enjoyment is our number one priority.

What makes us different?

We believe in a well-rounded approach to helping your kids develop on and off the field. We structure our practices so that players are placed into small groups rotating through stations focusing on individual skills, technical instruction, and game-based learning. We believe our small group format is essential for kids to get individual feedback, quality coaching, and high level engagement. We believe that the values learned from team sports (discipline, accountability, and leadership), are ones that will transcend well beyond sport, and we aim to build those values from day one. We will push your kids to get better by creating a fun, engaging, and disciplined environment conducive to learning, and will always have your child's best interests at heart.

Quick FAQ's

What type of level is this? Are you a select or rep team?

Valid question - and one that we get a lot. TOP Lacrosse is a competitive lacrosse program with a slightly different philosophy than most programs. Shoot us an email to find out more!

So who do you play against? Are you part of Ontario Lacrosse or the OMFLL?

Again, good question. We are not part of the OLA or OMFLL, and we compile our own season schedule through local games and local tournaments. We play against a lot of teams from around the GTA, many that play in the OMFLL, but we also play against local clubs from Toronto. Depending on the age group, we play between 5-12 games per season, including a few tournaments and exhibition games, which we run for each age group throughout the season. Our 11U and 9U development teams play in the Uptown Lacrosse League. There is no shortage of games with our teams, and we believe we play an age-appropriate number of games across all ages, putting considerable emphasis on practices and individual development, all while having a ton of fun.

Why choose TOP Lacrosse?

In short - location is key. All our practices and most of our games take place in Midtown Toronto, with an occasional tournament or festival taking place outside of the City. Our program is very similar to the traditional lacrosse setup, save for a few important philosophy points (see our philosophy here). What is different, however, is the emphasis we place on individual development, the amazing culture we strive to create with all our teams, and the high level of coaching that we provide. Also, one of our most important values is that all of our practices and most games take place at local fields, rarely more than a 10 minute drive from most of our families. Our families find that not only do they receive high-quality coaching and a great experience, but that their kids improve tremendously by season's end.
