After a great start to Summer 2020, TOP Sports is excited to expand our camp offerings to include one week of full-day soccer camp at De La Salle College School Campus, offering high quality soccer instruction to participants from 7-13 years old.
The TOP Difference
Game-Based Learning: It's no secret that kids like to play games, whether it's on the playground, in the backyard, or on the soccer field. In fact, games-based learning has been shown to be one of the most effective ways that kids learn. By using games to teach soccer, we can teach kids to execute skills based on their environment, which is called the 'practice-to-game transfer'. Skills cannot be solely learned in isolation, but must be reinforced by making decisions, and ultimately by making mistakes.
Quality Coaches: We believe that the foundation of a child's enjoyment of summer camp starts from the coaches, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. All camps are led by former professional, collegiate, or amateur athletes who want to give back to the next generation. Our coaches bring a ton of energy to summer camp, and our ultimate goal is for every child to leave at the end of the day with a sweaty head and big smile.
What are you doing to protect against the spread of COVID-19?
All of our programs are designed with Provincial and Municipal day-camp regulations in place. The safety of our campers, coaches, and staff are our highest priority, and we have a lengthy health & safety policy in place, which includes the following measures:
Will two different age groups be placed in the same groups?
No, during weeks with multiple age groups, each age will be placed in age-appropriate groups for all sessions. In an effort to make the groups distinct, each group will have a dedicated head coach that is with them for the entire week, as well as colour-coded wristbands.
Are there extended drop-off and pickup hours available?
Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no after-care offered for these camps.
Are lunch or snacks included in the camp packages?
No, lunch is not included in full-day camp packages. Players are required to bring their own lunch and peanut-free snacks. All lunch periods will be taken in groups of 5 participants.
What Happens if it Rains?
Our coaches well prepared with a rainy day schedule in the event of inclement weather. Participants will remain in their small-groups throughout any indoor time, and physical distancing between groups will be enforced. Each camp group or POD will have a designated time slot in the gym which will rotate through. No refund or credit for rainy days will apply.
