TOP Sports is excited to bring back our Learn-to-Play hockey program for the Winter hockey season. This program is designed for players with limited hockey playing or skating experience who want to improve in a fun, engaging environment. Our team of coaches aim to inspire the next generation of hockey players through passion, skill development, and a tremendous experience that leaves every player with a smile on their face.
Note: Participants are required to have a minimum of one year of skating experience before joining the program and must be able to skate around the ice on their own.
During each weekly practice session, participants will rotate through a series of zones on the ice, which will be split between “teaching” zones and “mini-game” zones. We believe that maintaining a balance between technical teaching time and less structured game play time will accomplish the two primary goals for participants in the program – to learn the basic skills of hockey and to grow passion for the sport. This program will utilize a half-ice format.
